Visit to Paris II

1. French "macarons"

2. Maria at the top of the Eiffel Tower

3. Jessie by Jim Morrison's grave in the Cimitiere Pere Lachaise

4. Aloise and Jessie eating crepes!

Sunday, March 29th

Maria and I took the early morning train to Paris where we met up with Jessie and her French friend, Aloise, and Aloise's mother, Caroline. We visited the "Cimitiere Pere Lachaise"--the cemetery where many famous people are buried. We saw the graves of Jim Morrison, Oscar Wilde, Edith Piaf, and many others! The cemetery is just incredible--there are so many graves all over the place! And they're just randomly placed...not at ALL in straight lines!
We ate lunch in a nice Italian restaurant, then stopped at La Durée --the best bakery in France--for some macarons. French "macarons" are nothing like the "macaroons" in the US. These cookies are always put together by hand, so they are very expensive. But absolutely delicious!
In the afternoon we visited the Eiffel Tower and went up to the top! It took a lot of time standing in lines, but the view is just stunning!
We walked around a bit (stopping for crêpes) before catching a train back to Angers (with Jessie) around 8:00pm.
