4th Day In London

Jan. 28th
Apparently we were more jet lagged than we thought. Today we both slept in until 2:20pm! Then we spent the afternoon sitting in the living room updating our journals and putting some pictures online. Also we both called home and talked to our families.
At 6:00pm we realized that we had to meet Caryn and Jan at the theatre at 6:30pm, so we rushed to the tube stop (which wasn't so good for my hurt ankle...) and headed for Leicester Square. We saw "Twelfth Night" and it was brilliant. Caryn and Jan bought us all tickets in the 4th row (center) and paid for the expensive programs so we could read all about the actors! It was really amazing how many of them had been in movies we've seen. Derek Jacobi played Malvolio (he's a very famous actor known for doing Shakespeare plays and he was also one of the funeral parlor guys in the movie Nanny McPhee)! All the acting was top notch and we all really enjoyed the show. As we were leaving the theatre, we overheard the people next to us talking about how Jim Broadbent (Slughorn in Harry Potter, Fenoglio in Inkheart, etc...) was there! Unfortunately we didn't actually see him...
After the show we went for a delicious dinner at a Thai restaurant. Then we took a cab home and the driver was hilarious! He was talking non-stop and his topics ranged from how he knew the lyrics from lots of musicals but couldn't sing the tunes very well, the 2012 Olympics, how he preferred Oscar Wilde to Shakespeare, his opinions on Tony Blair, the economy, and the new buildings being built near the Tower. It was so funny!
Although we didn't do so much today, it was nice to relax and catch up on sleep. Plus, we got to see the best Shakespeare show we've ever seen!
