Day 5

Jan 29
We left early this morning so that we could get to Leicester Square and the half-price theatre tickets before everyone else. We did not have a specific show in mind so when the people in front of us in line recommended Zorro: The Musical, we decided to get matinee tickets. One of our favorite historical fiction writers is British so we wanted to by some of her books. We asked someone where a bookstore was and they pointed us in the right direction. When we got there, we found five stores-although none of them had the books we wanted... We gave up and left. We were going to make dinner for us and my Aunt and Uncle that evening so we had to pick up groceries on the way home. We had lunch and then darted back to Leicester Square to see the show. It was pretty cool! The acting wasn't spectacular, but the sword fighting, dancing, music, sets, and special effects were! After the show we went home and cooked a dinner of pesto bread, pasta with tomato sauce and a fresh salad. For dessert Natalie made a rich chocolate dessert with raspberry topping. We had a lovely evening talking with Caryn and Jan.
