Thursday, March 26th
Maria, Candice, and I cooked a big Italian dinner for Candice's host parents and our site director, Sue! We were given permission to use Candice's host parents' kitchen and we decided on our menu: Sliced tomatoes with fresh mozzarella and basil, then homemade gnocchi with tomato sauce and homemade pesto bread, and for dessert: ice cream sundaes!
We spent about 3 1/2 hours cooking--and it was rather difficult because the kitchen was so small! But we had a lot of fun! I did all the gnocchi "rolling"--and we made WAY too much (enough to serve the 6 of us, 3 times over.....).
Everything turned out really well and we were absolutely stuffed by the end.
And, when I mentioned to my host parents that we were doing this, they asked if I would make them a gnocchi dinner! I'm definitely looking forward to doing more cooking!!
