Feb 4-6
Mostly this week I have had alot of AHA meetings and hung out with other students. But I will fill you in on some highlights. We visited the chateau in Angers which was absolutely gorgeous. We walked around the entire castle on the ramparts, which provided awesome views. We got to watch a French baker make French "macarons," which are not at all like American macaroons. They have two meringue-like cookies with jam, chocolate, or cream in the middle. We went shopping at L'Espace Anjou, which is a big shopping mall and I actually got the things I need (like shampoo and soap...). We went to see a French movie called "King Guillame." It was very silly, but as such it was easier to understand. It was a movie I probably would not have liked very much in the states, but with some sugar and a language barrier, I enjoyed it alot. Last night we went to a professional football (soccer) match: Angers vs. Claremont. It was my first professional sporting event and I enjoyed it a lot. We won, 4-2. It was extremely cold however. All in all I am having tons of fun, although I miss home as well.
